Motorists navigating the bustling streets of Dubai can expect significant changes as new traffic diversions have been put in place around Al Safah and City Walk. These reroutes are designed to maintain traffic flow and enhance access during the ongoing road development projects aimed at easing congestion in the area.
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has implemented these diversions on both Al Satwa Street and Al Multaqa Street. These measures are part of a broader initiative to improve road connectivity as part of the Al Safa Street development project. The project’s goal is to ensure smoother travel and reduce congestion in one of the city’s most trafficked areas.
In addition to this localized effort, Dubai is undertaking a large-scale infrastructure project valued at Dh2 billion. This ambitious plan, known as the Latifa bint Hamdan corridor project, is a 12-kilometer corridor that will link several key roads, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, and Emirates Road. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance the emirate’s transportation network by the time it is completed in 2028.
The development project includes the construction of seven bridges covering 2.3 kilometers and eight tunnels spanning 900 meters. Once completed, the upgraded corridor is projected to accommodate more than 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, providing substantial relief to traffic conditions across these major thoroughfares.
