UAE Leaders Honor Teachers’ Vital Role on World Teachers’ Day

On World Teachers’ Day, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan honored educators for their significant impact on students and society. Highlighting their vital role in shaping future generations, Sheikh Mohamed shared a personal memory by posting a photograph of himself as a 10-year-old, accompanied by a thank-you note he wrote to his teacher, Ahmad Ibrahim Mandi, in 1971. He emphasized the lasting influence teachers have on education and development.

Other prominent UAE leaders joined in acknowledging the contributions of teachers. Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum expressed gratitude for their part in developing the nation’s human capital. Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of education in the UAE’s progress and praised teachers for nurturing the knowledge, confidence, and ambition of young people.

Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan also recognized the pivotal role teachers play in promoting knowledge and preparing future generations for success. Education Minister Sarah Al Amiri highlighted that teachers are central to achieving the UAE’s long-term educational and developmental aspirations.

World Teachers’ Day, observed annually on October 5, serves as a global occasion to celebrate educators and their invaluable contributions to education and society. In the UAE, the day provided an opportunity for leaders to publicly express their appreciation and commitment to supporting teachers’ efforts in building a brighter future for the nation.
