As the Eid Al Adha holiday period approaches, the United Arab Emirates is bracing for hotter weather paired with humid nights. This forecast comes from the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology, which predicts that the country’s weather will largely remain fair to partly cloudy throughout the week. With the onset of summer, temperatures are anticipated to rise gradually.
Sunday will see a slight dip in temperatures, accompanied by a potential for fog or mist forming in some western and coastal regions during the night and early morning hours. However, starting Monday, hotter conditions are expected to make a comeback, just in time for the beginning of the Eid break for government employees.
During the holiday period, temperatures are expected to soar to around 43°C in Al Ain and 41°C in Fujairah. Additionally, light to moderate winds may occasionally reach speeds of up to 35 km/h. Coastal areas are likely to experience increased humidity levels during the nights and early mornings, while sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are projected to remain calm.
The rising temperatures are indicative of the UAE’s transition into the summer season following a relatively mild spring. In recent weeks, several areas have already seen temperatures exceeding 40°C, signaling the imminent arrival of summer. Notably, in the northern hemisphere, the astronomical start of summer officially falls on June 21.
