The United Arab Emirates is set to integrate artificial intelligence into the educational sphere, following approval from the UAE Cabinet for the inclusion of AI curriculum in all public and private schools. This initiative aims to familiarize students with the core concepts of AI, such as data handling, algorithms, and the ethical considerations associated with AI technology. A comprehensive training program is also part of the plan, targeting 22,000 teachers and educators to enhance their skills in utilizing AI for teaching, assessment, lesson planning, and curriculum development. UAE Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid emphasized the importance of continuous learning for teachers to adequately prepare students for a swiftly evolving future.

In a move to bolster government efficiency, the Cabinet has sanctioned the creation of an AI advisory system. This system is designed to assist ministers by evaluating policies, legislation, and government strategies through the use of 32 specialized AI assistants. These AI aides will offer insights by analyzing proposals, studying international standards, and making recommendations aligned with UAE’s national priorities. This development highlights the UAE’s commitment to incorporating advanced technology into governmental processes.

Additionally, the Cabinet has set forth regulations concerning autonomous vehicles, establishing a framework for testing, inspecting, registering, and licensing self-driving cars. These regulations are part of a broader effort to promote environmentally friendly transportation solutions and alleviate traffic congestion. Such initiatives reflect the UAE’s forward-thinking approach to modern transportation challenges.

The UAE government also announced substantial advancements in digital transformation. Over the past year, hundreds of millions of digital transactions have been processed through government services, accompanied by the successful implementation of numerous digital projects. This progress underscores the UAE’s dedication to enhancing governmental efficiency and public service delivery through technology.

On the environmental front, the Cabinet approved a National Ecotourism Policy and assessed advancements under the National Strategy to Combat Desertification 2022–2030. The initiatives aim to safeguard ecosystems, restore land, and conserve native plant life, demonstrating the UAE’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental preservation.
