The United Arab Emirates is set to experience a significant surge in temperatures this week, with some areas in Abu Dhabi expected to reach scorching highs of up to 48°C. This forecast comes from meteorologists who predict that the most intense heat will hit on Thursday. Specifically, regions within the Abu Dhabi emirate such as Mezaira, Gasyoura, and Al Quaa are likely to experience these extreme temperatures. Meanwhile, the capital city, Abu Dhabi, is projected to have a high of 43°C on the same day.

In contrast, Dubai is expected to have slightly milder conditions, with temperatures predicted to peak at 40°C by Thursday. This rise in heat marks a shift from the relatively mild spring weather, which included periods of unsettled conditions. Over the past weeks, temperatures have consistently climbed above 40°C in various parts of the UAE, signaling the impending arrival of the intense summer season.

As the Northern Hemisphere officially welcomes summer on June 21, the UAE is bracing for continued hot weather across the region in the upcoming weeks. Meteorologists have indicated that the soaring temperatures are a clear indication of the summer season settling in, and residents are preparing for the prolonged period of heat that characterizes this time of year.
