Sennheiser has introduced the HD 480 PRO, its latest high-end closed-back headphones tailored for studio and live settings. These headphones address two common issues with closed-back models by providing precise bass reproduction and exceptional comfort for audio professionals engaged in recording, tracking, or monitoring, whether in the studio, live environments, or on the go. The HD 480 PRO stands out by delivering where other closed-back headphones often fall short.
Achieving accurate low-end sound with closed-back headphones can be challenging, but the HD 480 PRO excels in this area. “They offer a much tighter and realistic bass compared to other closed-back headphones,” said Jimmy R. Landry, Sennheiser’s Category Market Manager for the Music Industry. Gunnar Dirks, Senior Product Manager for professional headphones, emphasized the importance of comfort, noting that the HD 480 PRO eliminates pressure points and fits comfortably even for those wearing glasses, ensuring audio engineers can stay focused during long sessions.
The HD 480 PRO is designed for various professional audio applications, including monitoring, producing, recording, and mixing. Its uncolored frequency response and accurate low-end ensure reliable audio translation across different listening scenarios, from home speakers to car systems and PA setups. “With the HD 480 PRO, you can trust what you’re hearing,” said producer Jim Kaufman. Mix engineer Will Brierre praised the headphones for their quality and accuracy, while artist and producer Young Chencs highlighted their immersive sound experience. Singer and songwriter Nao Yoshioka noted the headphones’ soft ear cushions and spatial sound quality, which enhance the recording and mixing process.
To ensure users can fully focus on their audio, the HD 480 PRO offers multiple stages of passive sound shielding, coupled with comfortable ear pads designed for glasses wearers. These headphones incorporate Sennheiser’s patented features, such as the “Vibration Attenuation System,” which minimizes unwanted vibrations and distortions, preserving signal clarity. The headphones’ ultralight voice coils contribute to a dynamic and authentic sound reproduction.
The HD 480 PRO is available for AED 1,549, and it comes with a 3-meter coiled cable and a carrying bag. For those who prefer a travel case, the HD 480 PRO Plus is offered at AED 1,749. Sennheiser’s latest closed-back headphones are part of the 400 series, alongside the open-back HD 490 PRO. According to Gunnar Dirks, the choice between models depends on the user’s working environment, with the HD 480 PRO being ideal for situations requiring sound isolation. Engineered for durability and consistent performance, the HD 480 PRO is poised to meet the demands of daily professional use.
