On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by senior leaders, officials, and a large congregation of worshippers. This gathering marked the commencement of the significant religious festival, where Sheikh Mohamed exchanged greetings with attendees, celebrating the occasion together.
During the Eid sermon, Dr. Omar Al Darei, the Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, underscored the critical role of honesty in fostering trust, national unity, and social stability. He commended the UAE’s leadership for its continued efforts in bolstering the nation through a unified approach and a steadfast commitment to national interests. The sermon was a poignant reminder of the values underpinning the UAE’s progress.
Sheikh Mohamed was in the company of several prominent UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed. Together with the worshippers, they recited Al Fatiha to honor the memory of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, highlighting the enduring legacy of the nation’s forefathers.
Across the Emirates, similar Eid prayers were observed by UAE rulers and senior figures, alongside citizens and residents. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed participated in prayers at the Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined the congregation at Sharjah Mosque. Ajman saw Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi attending prayers at Al Zaher Palace Mosque, and in Fujairah, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi performed prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
The spirit of Eid continued as Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered prayers at the Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined worshippers at the Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. These gatherings across the nation signified the start of Eid Al Adha celebrations, with thousands flocking to mosques, embodying the unity and shared cultural heritage of the UAE.
