Russia Strikes Ukraine: Warfare Persists as High-Level Envoys Exchange Proposals

by admin477351

Russian warfare killed at least one person and wounded 15 others in Kyiv and Kharkiv, persisting even as high-level envoys exchanged proposals in Abu Dhabi. The strikes on residential areas demonstrated continued military operations while diplomatic representatives shared potential peace plans.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned residents via social media that the capital was “under a massive enemy attack,” urging people to seek shelter. The warfare targeted residential buildings, resulting in casualties and widespread damage. Heat and water infrastructure sustained significant damage, leaving thousands without essential services.

Mayor Igor Terekhov reported that Kharkiv experienced warfare involving Iranian-manufactured Shahed drones, which damaged several residential complexes. The drone strikes caused extensive destruction to civilian housing, continuing Russia’s pattern of targeting non-military areas. The northeastern city has faced persistent warfare throughout the conflict.

Despite persisting warfare, high-level envoys exchanged proposals in Abu Dhabi. American, Russian, and Ukrainian representatives engaged in two-day talks where proposals were shared and discussed. President Zelensky announced that peace proposals were “nearly ready,” indicating active exchange among envoys. The UAE foreign ministry described the discussions as focused on “promoting dialogue and identifying political solutions.”

Ukrainian President Zelensky proposed creating a free trade zone in eastern Ukraine under Kyiv’s control following his meeting with President Trump. President Putin met with Trump’s high-level envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, facilitating proposal exchange. All parties remained engaged despite persisting warfare.
