Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has moved to set the record straight concerning his recent comments about Toronto’s Rogers Stadium, clarifying that he never criticized the new facility. His initial remarks on Monday, where he acknowledged the effort fans made to reach this weird stadium in the middle of nowhere, had caused some confusion.
On Friday, during the third of Coldplay’s four performances at the newly constructed stadium, Martin addressed the crowd directly. He reiterated his gratitude for the venue, stressing that his earlier words were intended to commend the fans for their journey rather than to disparage the stadium itself, which he described as beautifully, kindly built.
The Rogers Stadium has faced some logistical challenges since its debut last month, with concertgoers reporting issues related to crowd management and exiting the premises. In response, Live Nation Canada, in partnership with Rogers, has been implementing various enhancements to improve the overall attendee experience, including better crowd flow and reduced traffic.
With Blackpink scheduled to perform two shows on July 22 and 23, the stadium’s ongoing efforts to refine its operations will be put to the test, aiming to ensure smooth and enjoyable events for all future patrons.
